In warm and simple words, Nobel Peace Prize winner Archbishop Desmond Tutu reaches out to children everywhere with his inspiring message of love and forgiveness.
Jacana Media is proud to announce the publication of God’s Dream in all 11 South African languages. Jacana Media Managing Director, Mike Martin, says “this reflects our commitment to growing a culture of reading in South Africa and allowing children to read in their home language”. Archbishop Tutu is thrilled that the book will be accessible to all South African children. He explains “that God’s Dream is a place where laughter, love, and peace reign and where we realize that we are all members of one family - God's family”. The Independent Newspaper Group have partnered with Jacana Media and the Centre for the Book to run a promotion asking their readers to celebrate the Archbishop’s birthday by sponsoring copies of God’s Dream. The books will be distributed to under-resourced schools by the Centre for the Book. Editor in Chief, Chris Whitfield said "we are delighted to be associated with this project, both because of the message of this delightful book and the objective of fostering a culture of reading". Lynn Franklin, literary agent to the Archbishop, said “Like everyone involved with this beautiful book, I have enjoyed helping shepherd it through the publication and into the world. I’ve seen personally how truly happy Archbishop Tutu is every time he sees a copy of God’s Dream. We are all so pleased that Jacana is making it available in the many languages of South Africa for all children there to experience the Archbishop’s loving message and to learn from him how they can help make God’s dream come true.”
