In an effort to improve and widen the knowledge of all South Africans about crucial aspects of South Africa’s geography, history, environment, tourism, economy and culture, a series of books called Exploring Our Provinces has been developed.
The books cover each of South Africa’s nine provinces and include easy to understand, fact-filled information on the people, animals, plants and places that make up this warm country. In addition to the hundreds of interesting facts, each book in the series contains detailed maps, colour photographs and beautiful artwork.
Created for school and medium-level literacy readers, each book includes guides for facilitators on how to use the information to best help learners read and apply the knowledge they gain. There is also an activity section with fun riddles and crossword puzzles relating to the information in each book, and a selected list of websites and reference books for readers wishing to research further on their own.
